Hi and thankyou for your comment. I always use the %postname% permalink structure but i too have heard that you should include the catgeory as well, but as far as SEO is concerned I believe it is better to have it similar to this http://www.domain.com/postaname.php Unlike http://www.domain.com/categoryname/postname.php.

Once you have your permalink structure in place and your pages have been indexed by Google it would be fool hardy to change it.

Thank you for the link to download the theme. Just a query on the permalink structure…..Please play particular interest in making sure that the permalink for posts is set to “/%postname%“.

I’d always heard that you should include category as well as postname. Is there specific optimization value in only having the postname without the category?

Also… if you already have your permalink structure as category and postname and change it just to postname are you still able to access the old posts through google or will they go to page not found?
